moving sites today

i dreamt last night contact was attempted
through my SETI screensaver.
devilish grins in the sine wave patterns.
it seemed unwise if they were gestural attempts
of goodwill.
SETI and i have logged 2192 hours and 138 units.

more importantly,
xmas was enjoyed and no one believes that
i really wanted socks and underwear.

seems too late,
but,
time enough,
snow's back and i'm melting.

last june i served on a criminal court jury.
i was not paid enough to make my rent or eat.
$20 a day.
i was assured by the judge that it was my duty as a citizen.
i believe that.
but i could not help but think that those words come
easier from someone who receives a judge's paycheque.

jury duty proved to be a more intensive experience
than imagined. i was hooked to trialspotting for a
few weeks before returning to life before distraction.

saw Bandits last week.
its not as bad as i thought it was.
reminds me of those zany, hijinks driven 70's capers
a la marty feldman and gene what's his name.
wilder?
billy bob was worth the ticket price though. he's hilarious.

sigur rós was a glorious show.

i ordered a solbakken cd from zulu.
i have been waiting since late march.
i think i might not like it after all, what with this wait and all.

this is the international year of the volunteer. i have no work and the phrase "well you can always volunteer" causes me shortness of breath. actually just the "v" word is enough as it seems my assistant position in sound editing has been turned over to a living-with-my-parents volunteer who will eventually get paid. i however, am broke, have to pay rent and cannot afford paying to work. isn't volunteering for folks that can afford the time and money? to give because they can?

depression is settling in again quite nicely.
i did however volunteer for CIVICUS this week.
that was worthwhile.
however the "v" word is not a good one for me these days.
more on that later.
it was cool to hear my music played in the big convention centre!

had to rush back to van for that dumb meeting.
really should watch the pre-mix too.
will visit victoria next week.

i am in victoria.
I will phone brian crown today. haven't seen him in 2 years. we've been friends since pre- school. almost 40 damn years.

will perhaps go to VCC DMM alumni meeting tommorrow night.

pre-mixes of Liberty Stands Still started today. i should be there watching.
