some foods are easy to swallow
i can slide down a perogy to save time or effort
from chewing, and bananas are great
if you're in a rush or lazy.

there was once a colour spelled vermillion,
whose father was wed to red and had children,
none of them bled,
with knives olive them said,
we stay thanks to the lord and put in him.

two thousand and five.
in aviation one is trained to pronounce that
"too thousand and fife".

summer a latin quarter
dripping with pennies
sitting a late corner
the milk boils, it sighs
rises on all fires
breathing halo of joy to my eyes
the cafe closes and sitting there silently
the cat's eyes its noses.

wow, the sun really brings out the dust in things,
i guess that's what inspired "that saturday mornin' shine"

god is throwing acorns at me
pelting past my head
three pavement pings as they bounce
and funnel down the driveway drains
into lonely, dark tunnels.

what's the use of having a blog if you don't even write in it?
i have never kept a journal of any sort and regret it often.

i am enjoying the fan.

i am very upset that i cannot go watch The Cremaster Cycle.
a lot has transpired.
a lot has changed.

i'm sitting in feancy...
no, feancy schmancy british airways lounge in JFK.
i have been under a lot of great duress trying to
fly out of here standby since july 4th.
that is a lot of long, tiring and expensive trips to
and from the airport.
my gracious hosts made it all bearable.
even surprising me out at terminal 9 one night!
first time without a window seat in a long time.
top it off, we are delayed by over an hour.

the first raindrop of the year
had hoped to hit the ground
instead it graced a leaf and bounced
back up into a million and to
whet the lips of an eager season

one day we should all go down
and feed the barnacles
the gulls and the breeze have enough
light and spray to sing on
that the tidepools reflect their joy
through ripples and whelks
upward into a stony eye.

at night the daffodils sleep
and the oaks keep watch
at dawn they switch
until the dandelions are ready
to take over for summer.
"look out!"
a burning opportunity.

al arbour

i nearly fell over a log
can't remember if i didn't saw it
or knew it was there
or tried to straddle or
hurdle jump it

falled on a log
in the woods
wasn't sure if the woods was slippery
this was not on the beach

i sawed a log so big
i could go underneath it
below it i could not go all the way
beneath it, however with this log
i could not
but i have with others

i walked on a log so long
i could not count all of the branches
for they were beneath it
even though some had fallen off
i couldn't count olive them

i walk on one log
so long

nothing much to say.
just sitting, waiting,
to spend another evening at the hospital.

its that time of year, and the camas is starting
what looks to be a a strong bloom.
perhaps my favourite flower.

i know its sounds cheesy
but there is no trick to coping
your wall or hardening shell keeps out the reality
and in the realization
that everything either makes you laugh
or it all makes you desperately sad.
as if there's a choice.

today i threw my case out the window.
as it fell it whistled and as it crashed
it crashed.
